Learn About Orange County Housing Developments
2016 has been a busy year for Orange County housing and other developments. This year has seen a rise in the number of applications coming to the Development Review Committee. At the start of the year in January, and most recently in April, the committee received 45+ review requests in each of those months. The monthly average for the year so far has been 41, well above the average of 30 per month for the last couple of years. This is great news for the region, which has also resulted in some great updates from Orange County to help track the development requests and keep the public informed.
In response to the rising demand for property developments in Orange County, there are now new ways to keep updated on the latest projects. A new mobile app, OCFL Atlas, plots developments on a map and provides up to date information including board meeting notes and project data. For more in depth information on an Orange County development you can now go to Fasttrack.OCFL, search for a development and get all the current details and status updates. Orange County has also added new staff for plan reviews and inspections to help with the additional volume of requests.
Some key new developments which have been proposed include the Sunbridge Community in east Orange County on Mormon Church ranch land, “The Grow” development in the Lake Pickett Area and a new single family housing subdivision in Moss Park. You can find more than just housing developments posted in the Fasttrack website. All types of developments under review are included. From new parks to school upgrades, new lakeside docks or commercial and retail centers, if a proposed development is submitted, Orange County residents can learn all about it first-hand.
