Lake Nona Continues to Grow
Lake Nona is going more exclusive, at least in part. According to documents filed with the City of Orlando, Taylor Morrison Home Court has plans for the first gated community to be built in Lake Nona. A part of Laureate Park, the new residential development is set to include up to 151 luxury homes. The homes will be north of Tavistock Lakes Blvd. and west of Narcoossee Rd. Named The Preserve at Laureate Park, this new project is part of the developers Phase 6 of the whole Laureate Park community. All of this development is slated to have a total of 886 residential properties, with 747 to be single-family homes and 139 townhomes.
Lake Nona is proving to be a popular place for home buyers in the Orlando area, with new homes being sold quickly with development projects moving forward to build more. Laurate Park itself has now seen 1,000 homes sold. If you were interested in VillageWalk at Lake Nona, you will have to wait until an owner decides to sell, as all new properties there are sold. This area has a lot to offer families, and showcases how our region is growing successfully.
Lake Nona has become a community where you can live, work and play. With over 10,000 residents already, the schools have an active student body of 7,000. Work is available as well, with companies such as Medical City and schools such as UCF College of Medicine employ 5,000+ people, making this development a big attraction for families. With the development of Lake Nona came the development of neighborhood amenities as well, including retail shops, restaurants, parks and trails, as well as a country club and golf course. The proximity of Lake Nona to Orlando provides an ideal location for commuting, and connection with the region’s special attractions like Winter Park and other schools such as Valencia College or the University of Central Florida.
